Discover a new way to enjoy the mountains. Join the group ski touring introductory outings with ESi Val Cenis. Led by passionate instructors, these outings allow you to learn the basics of the sport. You will discover how to use the equipment, master ascent techniques, manage your energy, and receive mountain safety advice.

About the ski touring introduction (adults) in Val Cenis

Designed for skiers wishing to try off-piste skiing in a safe environment, this option is available as a single session or a 3-session course, allowing for step-by-step progression. The price is €30 per outing or €90 for 3 sessions. It is an ideal experience for discovering the joy of the ascent and the beauty of the wild landscapes of the Haute Maurienne Vanoise.

Schedules

Group ski touring outings with ESi Val Cenis are scheduled for prime time slots, allowing participants to make the most of the mountains. They can take place early in the morning before the slopes open, or at the end of the day when the ski lifts close, offering a unique way to experience the mountains in ideal conditions.

Ski pass and equipement

To ensure a successful first experience with ski touring with ESi Val Cenis, it is important to arrive with the right equipment from the very start of the outing. Gear is not included in the package, so please make sure to arrange for rentals or prepare your equipment before your session. This will allow you to fully enjoy discovering the mountains and focus on your instructor’s guidance.

Equipment required for the ski touring introduction (adults) in Val Cenis

  • Complete ski touring gear (skis, suitable bindings, climbing skins, and ski touring boots);
  • A helmet (highly recommended for safety);
  • Suitable poles;
  • Warm, breathable clothing suitable for physical exertion and mountain conditions;
  • Suitable gloves or mittens;
  • Ski goggles or sunglasses, depending on weather conditions;
  • A backpack containing water and a small snack;
  • Sunscreen and lip balm—essential at high altitudes.

Having suitable, comfortable equipment ensures you get the most out of your introduction to ski touring. It allows you to progress with confidence alongside your instructor.
