Guiding people with disabilities in alpine skiing requires far more than just technical skiing proficiency; it demands specialized training. Such training must be recognized and tailored to ensure high-quality supervision—all while maintaining the highest safety standards.
As a benchmark in adaptive skiing equipment, TESSIER has accredited instructors to organize training courses for mountain professionals. These courses are designed for ski instructors, high-mountain guides, and ski patrollers, as well as for parents and professionals who accompany individuals with disabilities. However, please note that only certified ski instructors or high-mountain guides are authorized to provide this service professionally for a fee.
Thanks to her extensive field experience and training background, Emmanuelle is one of the few professionals accredited to deliver these recognized courses. Upon completion of the program, Tessier issues piloting permits. Once the skills acquired during the course have been validated, you will be qualified to perform this activity.
TESSIER offers several training courses depending on the type of equipment used (Dualski, Tandemski, Uniski, etc.). These courses are open to individuals who are sensitive to disability issues, physically fit, and possess an advanced level of skiing ability—prerequisites for ensuring a safe, comfortable experience tailored to each participant’s specific needs.
Training duration varies depending on the chosen equipment and the trainee’s profile, ranging from a few hours for an introductory session to several days for comprehensive certification courses. These programs provide the essential technical, instructional, and interpersonal skills needed to confidently assist individuals with disabilities.
Are you a ski school? Do you want to train several adaptive ski instructors at your resort? Training can be conducted on-site at your resort, provided local conditions meet the established requirements.
Are you already trained on a specific type of equipment? Do you want to rent gear for a day or a week? The APPASH association likely has a solution for you.
