Practical information about our ski, snowboard and adaptive ski lessons

Participants

From 1 student for private lessons. Maximum of 8 people per group class for optimal guidance.

Material

On the day of your lesson, make sure you have equipment suited to your activity and skill level. Bring your skis or snowboard, boots, and poles (for skiing), as well as a helmet—which is highly recommended and mandatory for certain lessons. Also, remember to wear warm clothing, gloves, and goggles or a visor so you can fully enjoy your session in the best possible conditions.

Age

We accept children from the age of four and a half in group lessons, as long as they’re keen to ski! When it comes to snowboarding, there’s no rush… Private lessons are available for younger children.

Duration (depending on children numbers)

Group lessons: 2.5 hours per day/lesson. Private lessons: duration upon request.

Schedules

Open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Languages

Lessons can be conducted in French, English, Italian, or Dutch, depending on instructor availability. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any special requests.

Class departure / Meeting point

Lessons start at Val Cenis Le Haut, next to the gondola of the same name and opposite the children's center. Arrangements can be made for private and group lessons starting from the second day. We will always strive to meet your needs, taking into account your constraints and our availability. Private lessons: meeting point can be adjusted based on your accommodation and availability.

By road:
By shuttle: "Bowling" stop in Lanslevillard, near the Val Cenis Le Haut gondola.
By car: Free parking, just a few meters from the main ESi meeting point.

On skis:
Green runs from Lanslebourg or Plan des Champs (Les Alpages, Le Critérium, Flambeau) and Lanslevillard. If you are staying in Termignon or another part of the resort, allow enough travel time by car to reach the start of your lesson without rushing.

Lift Pass + Ski Lessons

Take advantage of our special package: a 6-day lift pass at a negotiated rate is included for beginner children (aged 5–11 with little to no prior skiing experience) enrolled in group ski lessons.
⚠️ Val Cenis uses dynamic pricing: be sure to check the pass price when booking to secure the best deal.
If you wish to collect your pre-ordered passes before lessons begin, you can do so on Sunday morning between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM at the ESI office in Val Cenis Le Haut (located next to the ski lift ticket counters).

1. Activities
Before your arrival, we help you select the activity that best suits your skill level, age, and preferences.
2. Days & Hours
Group classes are organized Sunday to Friday, with morning, afternoon, or midday slots available depending on the season. Check our schedule to choose the day and time that suit you best.

4. Show up on the big day

On the day of your lesson, please arrive at the ESi meeting point—either at Val Cenis le Haut or La Colomba in Lanslevillard—a few minutes before the scheduled time.

Your instructor will meet you there to start the activities and ensure the session runs smoothly. Remember to check your equipment so you can make the most of your experience right from the start.
5. Warm-up and preparation
A few minutes are dedicated to warming up, safety instructions, and checking equipment. This time helps activate muscles, improve mobility, and reduce the risk of injury, while also fostering better progress on the slopes. It is an essential step for making the most of your lesson safely.
6. Live the experience
Make the most of the experience. With their expert knowledge of the resort, our instructors guide you along the best routes, ensuring an authentic and personalized experience. Combining shared moments, skill development, and the pure joy of skiing, every instant becomes a true immersion in the mountain world.
7. ESi Notebooks
If your children have previously taken ESi lessons, remember to bring their ESi level booklets along so they can be updated. You can also download the ESi Passport app—a practical, eco-friendly solution for the forgetful.
8. Already registered (payment settled)?
If you are already registered (and payment has been settled), there is no need to come and see us upon your arrival at the resort; we will be waiting for you at the lesson meeting point at the base of the slopes in Val Cenis Le Haut on the first day, at the scheduled time.

Access to the resort

How to get to Val Cenis?

Val Cenis is easily accessible by car year-round. From within France, take the A43 motorway towards Turin and exit at junction 30 (Modane / Haute Maurienne). Then, simply follow the D1006 road to Val Cenis. The drive from Modane to the resort’s villages takes approximately 30 minutes.

In winter, remember to equip your vehicle with winter tires or carry snow chains, in accordance with regulations and weather conditions. Please also note that the Mont-Cenis and Iseran mountain passes are closed during the winter season; access to the resort is possible only via the Maurienne Valley through Modane.

Val Cenis is one of the most accessible ski resorts by train. Modane station, located just 25 km from the resort, is served year-round by direct TGV trains from Paris, as well as by TER and Frecciarossa trains from Italy.

Upon arrival in Modane, you can reach Val Cenis by taking the direct S53 bus, which serves the resort’s various villages (Bramans, Sollières-Sardières, Termignon, Lanslebourg, and Lanslevillard). The journey takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on your destination, with connections timed to match train schedules. In winter, it is recommended to book your seat in advance.

Several international airports offer easy access to Val Cenis. The closest are Chambéry, Grenoble, Geneva, Lyon-Saint-Exupéry, and Turin, all located approximately a two-and-a-half-hour drive from the resort. During the winter season, bus connections are available from Chambéry Airport to the Haute Maurienne area.

Upon arrival at the airport, you can rent a car or travel to Modane train station by train or shuttle, then take the S53 bus, which serves the various villages of Val Cenis in about thirty minutes. This is a convenient, cost-effective option that allows easy access to the resort without the need for your own vehicle.
